Persistence of Rhyme

Poetry

I close my eyes a dream it seems
I fight in angered peace for sleep
the sun it warms the grass it stings
I sat myself against a tree

Coherency as warmth does rain
I think beyond I thought today
I wished the wind (so urgently cries
and pushes into so hard denies)

the seagulls sweep into the sand
so quickly from an ocean land
and sense forgets the lack of sea
I think beyond I thought my sleep

truth does lie while lies did stand
I write of nothing of nothing can
something will but nothing won't
as poem confirms the loss of both

the pen surrenders and ink will fly
beyond comes close to take my eyes
and rain will steal to share its pain
(the thought it thinks it knows no fame)

all and all the sun is done
the skin it warms as poem it comes
the thought is final ends do meet
the think looks back and was this me?
