Downloading & Running the Installer

Before you begin, you should download the PopChart Server 4.0.5 installer from http://www.corda.com.

Note: Linux and Solaris installations automatically include a compatible Java VM. For all other UNIX compatible systems, read "Suggested Installation Procedure for Generic UNIX Installer" in Chapter 2.

To run the installer after downloading it

1. Locate the file that you downloaded. It's name should be PCIS40.exe, PCIS40.bin, or PCIS40.command, depending on your platform.

2. Run the installer by double-clicking on it or typing its name in a command prompt. On UNIX compatible systems you may need to run sh PCIS40.bin in your command prompt.

Headless Installer

A headless installer (i.e. no GUI) is available for UNIX compatible systems. There is a link to it from the download page.

You will not be able to select any options—the default settings for the installation will be used. Once you have run the headless installer, you should skip to "Starting PopChart Server" in Chapter 2 at the end of the chapter. You will also need to enter a license key manually, following the instructions in "Entering a New License Key" in Chapter 3.
