Interactive and Special Effects

Chapter 7

This chapter discusses interactive and special effects that you can incorporate into your PopChart image. It will show you how to create and use these effects in PCScript and, in many cases, PopChart XML.

Note: Most of the issues discussed in this chapter are considered to be post-processing issues—i.e. things that you add to your PopChart image after you've already formatted (created an appearance file) and sent data to it.

The first two sections of this chapter, "PopChart Script Review" and "About PopChart XML in this Chapter," will review what you need to know to create these effects. It is assumed that you already know how to embed a PopChart image into a web page (see Chapter 4, "Embedding PopChart Images in a Web Page," if you do not).

The remainder of this chapter discusses the following effects:

Note: Many of the examples in this chapter can be applied directly to the example PopChart image that we have been creating throughout this documentation (see Example 4.7 on page 4-19). A good way to learn these features would be to plug them into the example and see what happens.
